Anyone who's walked a Sussex beach knows the particular joy of stumbling upon a rare patch of soft sand among the chalk rock pools, pebbles and jagged rocks that usually define our coastline. A spot to lay a towel, take off your shoes and feel the sand between your toes, build a castle, or simply make basecamp before heading off to explore the rock pools. This framescape captures the simple delight of a golden patch of softness, treasured all the more for how seldom you find it.

From my framescapes collection, the painted scene extends onto the frame itself, expanding the horizon and drawing the viewer further into the world.

From the 'framescape' series, paintings with a painted frame, using lightfast inks onto a primed wood base. Title, date and signature on the back.

Fitted with 2 x metal D-rings and ready to hang.
