This painting will be part of The Star Brewery Gallery group exhibition for the Lewes district's Artwave Festival, from 5th to 20th September.

Head eastwards along the coast from Brighton and Hove, and you can find quieter beaches lined with chalk cliffs and with rock-pools - heavenly, summer day. This little painting captures the memories of days by the rock pools at beaches like Rottingdean. That perfect whiteness of the surf. The exhilaration of the tide filling and emptying the little pools, those tiny worlds. Heavenly cauliflower clouds touched with pink. The suggestion of distant cliffs hugging the coastline. And me, coming come sun-kissed and salty, exhausted from a day of fresh sea air.

From the 'framescape' series, paintings with a painted frame, using lightfast inks onto a primed wood base. Title, date and signature on the back.
